Need to change your Wi-Fi password later?

Because Wi-Fi credentials are stored directly inside the QR code, changing the network name or password requires generating a new Wi-Fi QR code. Create a new one anytime with EasyQR.

How does a Wi-Fi QR code work?

The network name, password, and security type are encoded directly into the QR code using the standard Wi-Fi QR format. There is no link and no redirect involved.

When a supported phone scans the code with its camera, the device reads those details and offers to join the network — the guest never has to type the password.

Because the details live inside the code itself, a Wi-Fi QR code keeps working indefinitely, but it must be regenerated whenever the network name or password changes.

Does EasyQR store my Wi-Fi password?

No. This free generator runs entirely in your browser. Your network name and password are used to build the QR code and sign on your device, and they are never sent to EasyQR's servers or saved to an account.

Anonymous usage analytics record only that a Wi-Fi QR code was generated — never the network name, password, or encoded Wi-Fi string.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Wi-Fi QR Code Generator free?

Yes. You can create and download a Wi-Fi QR code and printable sign for free — no account required.

Do guests need an app?

Usually no. Most modern iPhone and Android devices can scan Wi-Fi QR codes with the built-in camera or QR scanner.

Does the QR code expire?

No. The QR code itself does not expire. It works as long as the encoded network information stays correct and the device supports Wi-Fi QR scanning.

What happens if I change my Wi-Fi password?

Generate a new QR code. Because the credentials are encoded directly inside the QR code, an existing Wi-Fi QR code cannot update itself when the password changes.

Can I hide the password from the printed sign?

Yes. Showing the password on the sign is off by default — the password does not need to appear as visible text.

Can I add my logo?

Yes — upload a logo and it appears at the top of your sign.

Can I customize the colors?

Yes. Set your primary and secondary colors with a HEX code or the color picker.

Can I download just the QR code?

Yes. You can download the Wi-Fi QR code on its own as a PNG or SVG for use in your own design software.

Can I use this for my home Wi-Fi?

Yes — it works for home networks and guest networks.

Can I use it for a business?

Yes. It's built for cafés, hotels, offices, rentals, salons and more.

Does EasyQR store my Wi-Fi password?

No. The Wi-Fi QR code and sign are generated entirely in your browser. Your network name and password are never sent to or saved by EasyQR.
